Since 1998, Dale has been part of the leadership team at Bethany Life Communities. Prior to this, Dale was the administrator of Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa. For the 13 years before transitioning into senior services, Dale served parishes as a Lutheran pastor. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Luther College in Decorah, IA, and his masters of Divinity degree from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, CA.
