Bethany Life Communities of Story City, Iowa (a.k.a. Bethany Manor, Timberland Village, Cedar Place, and Bethany Life Foundations) have started new construction of Phase II at the Timberland Village site. Initially, 2 duplex units of the proposed 6 are under construction and the other 4 units will be built as sales warrant. Along with the existing 64 apartment units known as Timberland Village Apartments which houses Assisted Living & Independent Residents, this Timberland Village subdivision future expansion includes a prospective of 6 Duplex Units, 12 Cottage Homes, 8 Townhome Units, and 64 Multi-Family Units. 160 total units at completion is the overall proposal.

The architect firm of Rudi/Lee/Dreyer of Ames, Iowa has been given the task, along with the planning staff of Bethany Life Communities, of designing a innovative yet functional plan to address the needs of not only our valuable senior population, but to include & enhance our Eden Alternative Concept of providing for variety and spontaneity in the lives of our community as well. This is accomplished by creating a “total family” environment that is all inclusive of the presense of children, plants, animals, & young adults along with the elderly. With pride, we, at Bethany Life Communities, are reaching out with this proposed expansion site to serve “our” communities as well as Story City to continue to live & grow together. Our goal is to promote spiritual, emotional, and physical health in a beautiful small town setting and offer this concept to all levels of care in our Timberland Village subdivision.

Two of the apartments in the duplex units that are presently being constructed have been sold to prospective residents. The goal for these duplexes is to fill the elderly’s need for continuum of care. These occupants will be prioritized when additional care is needed in our assisted living & long term care communities. We have two more to sell at this site. An additional 3rd duplex will be constructed to finish off this part of the Phase II layout.
